Prior to 1969 ~2010
Walter Becht, or to give it its full name Oberhessische Keramik, Walter Becht AG (where AG indicates a corporation owned by shareholders). Walter Becht is also sometimes spelt Walther Becht, but refers to the same company.
It was located in Schlitz – I believe that Oberhessische refers to upper Hessen (a central German state) where Schlitz can be found.
Some glazes were by Manz Cologne.
The company stopped trading in about 2010.

Identification
A white clay was usually used. Most base markings have a distinct “WB” or “U” ahead of the form and size. In some cases ‘SCHLITZ’ is also written out. Occasionally an items will not have this letter notation but this is unusual. Occasionally items can be found with an original sticker.
